Baseball Camp (ages 9-14)

Dates: June 14-16
Location & Time:
Seaside Club: 9:00 am to 11:30 am
Salinas Club: 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Baseball Camp teaches the basic fundamentals of the game. Such as throwing under and over hand, hitting, fielding, and catching. The first two days will focus on skill based games and stations. The third day participants will put their skills to work and play a baseball game. Regardless of incoming skill level everyone will learn new skills, responsibility, teamwork, and respect. Participants are not required to bring or purchase any equipment. Participants are encouraged to bring comfortable clothing and a water bottle.

Golf Camp (ages 9-14)

Dates: Tues-Thurs, June 20-22
Location: Seaside Club
Times vary: Tues & Wed from 9:00 am-10:30 am; Thurs from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Golf Camp is designed to inspire new golfers to begin their journey and further develop playing at a beginner to intermediate level. PGA certified instructors will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants will be placed in smaller groups based on their experience and age to create an enjoyable learning environment. Day 1 and 2 of camp will be held on-site at the Boys & Girls Club. Day 3, participants will be transported to a local golf course to apply what they have learned.

Soccer Camp (ages 6-15)

Dates: June 14-16
Location: Salinas Club
Times: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Soccer Camp teaches the basic fundamentals of the game. Such as dribbling, kicking, passing and team playing. The first three days will be broken down into skill based exercises and other fitness activities. The last day will consist of a soccer game. Regardless of incoming skill level everyone will learn new skills, responsibility, teamwork, and respect. Participants are not required to bring or purchase any equipment. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cleats, or tennis shoes, shin guards, shorts and a water bottle. Camp will be led by Soccer Coach Jaime Rubio from Integrity Soccer Club.

Ballet Folklorico Clinic (ages 6-15)

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Ballet Folklorico Dance Clinics will introduce youth to the music, dance movements and cultural background of Mexican folklore in these powerful  one hour sessions per age group. The camp will be led by recognized teacher and founder of Faldas Y Flores: Folklore Mexicano dance academy, Ms. Karla Ruiz.

Tennis Camp (ages 6-10)

Dates: July 11-13
Location: Seaside Club
Times: 9:30 am – 11:30 am

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County tennis camp will introduce youth to the game by using equipment tailored to their age, size and ability. Youth will learn basic skills: forehand backhand and volleys with direction, rallying, serving and game play to achieve early success for greater lifelong enjoyment of the game. The camp will be led by a certified USTA coach and experienced tennis players. Chaperones will walk with participants to the Seaside High School tennis courts promptly at 9:30 am and will depart the courts by 11:30 am.

Basketball Camp (ages 6-15)

Dates: July 10-13
Location: Salinas Club
Times: 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Basketball camp will introduce and develop youth to the game. Youth will learn basketball fundamental skills: dribbling, shooting, passing, team play, and participating in tournament style games.The camp will be led by basketball Coach Remando and BGCMC staff.

Science, Technology Engineering, Art, & Math (STEAM) Camp (ages 11-18)

Dates: July 17-21
Location: Seaside Club
Times: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
This camp will provide the youth of Monterey County with the opportunity to learn about historical women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through hands-on STEAM activities. From learning to navigate a rover on Mars like Katherine Johnson, one of the first African American women to work for NASA, to making botanical illustrations like famous Mexican-American botanist and explorer Ynés Mexía, youth will immerse themselves in a diversity of STEAM careers.

Art Camp (ages 11-18)

Dates: July 24-27
Locations: Seaside Club and Salinas Club
Times: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

In the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County summer art camp, members will have a chance to work on hands-on projects with local artists. Each day, members will work with a different artist. They will learn new techniques, use various media and have studio time where they can apply the skills they have learned. This setting will also allow the members to receive expert coaching and feedback from the teaching artists. All supplies will be provided and participants will be able to take home a mini art kit along with the art they create.This camp is meant to refine skills, give members a chance to express their creativity, and most of all, have fun creating art!
