The Girls’ Health in Girls’ Hands program (GHGH), addresses health education disparities among girls ages 11-18. The program focuses on providing education and mentorship around social, emotional, and physical wellness. Recently, GHGH was honored with the Excellence in Education Award by the Monterey County School Boards Association, recognizing the significant impact of the program.

A recent highlight of the program was the annual GHGH Summit, an all day event held on February 22nd. 107 young women joined together at the Salinas Clubhouse for a powerful day of connection, learning, and empowerment. The women engaged in dynamic workshops and activities centered on mental, emotional, and physical health, all designed to support their personal well-being and personal growth.

“The two workshops that I attended and helped me the most were Self-love and Emotions & You because they helped me to learn that I am important” — Paola 6th grader at Oak Avenue Elementary School
