On March 11th, 2023 we will celebrate the youth of Monterey County with our community at the 30th annual Comics for Kids Auction. Event proceeds impact the lives of over 4,000 local youth, shaping the future of our communities and the leaders of tomorrow.
Hosted by Comedian Ronny Chieng
Ronny Chieng is a stand-up comedian, actor, and Correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Ronny co-wrote and starred in the comedy series “Ronny Chieng: International Student,” which aired on ABC in Australia, the BBC, Comedy Central Asia, and Comedy Central in the USA. In 2018, he starred in the Warner Bros. smash hit film “Crazy Rich Asians” based on the best-selling book by Kevin Kwan. Ronny released his Netflix comedy special “Asian Comedian Destroys America!” in December 2019 to global success. Due to its massive success he inked a deal to produce and create three more comedy specials for the streaming platform. His latest stand-up comedy special “Ronny Chieng: Speakeasy,” is currently available on Netflix. He also starred in Amazon’s film “Bliss” and Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Other credits include “Godzilla vs. Kong,” plus the Disney+TV series’ “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” and NBC’s “Young Rock”.
Next, Ronny will be seen starring alongside Allison Williams in Blumhouse and Atomic Monster’s tech horror thriller “M3GAN” from filmmaker Gerard Johnstone, and is set to play ‘Fatty Choi’ in Hulu’s upcoming series “Interior Chinatown”, directed by Taika Waititi and written by Charles Yu, based on the award winning book of the same name.
