PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT

Girl’s Health in Girl’s Hands

When girls lead, communities thrive. Girls’ Health in Girls’ Hands is a flagship program rooted in one powerful idea: young women deserve a voice in their own wellness.

Across Monterey County, GHGH creates safe, empowering spaces for girls to explore what it means to be strong—physically, emotionally, and socially. Through open conversations, hands-on learning, and real-world leadership opportunities, girls gain the confidence to advocate for themselves and each other.

From navigating health decisions to tackling tough topics, GHGH helps girls own their power and define their future—on their terms.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Strong minds and strong bodies—that’s the promise we make to every child who walks through our doors or joins us on the field. Our Health & Wellness programs equip Club members with the tools to make smart choices and build lifelong habits.

Through hands-on nutrition education, kids learn how to fuel their bodies and plan balanced meals. Daily fitness activities keep energy high and hearts healthy.

And with SMART (Skills, Mastery & Resilience Training), we go deeper—helping youth develop emotional strength, set boundaries, build healthy relationships, and thrive with confidence.

Because every young person deserves to grow up healthy—in every way.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS

We’re not just helping kids with homework—we’re helping them build a future.

Our Academic Success initiative ensures Club members in grades K–5 stay on track with grade-level progress and gain the confidence to thrive in school and beyond. Through targeted programs like Levered Math, Read Naturally, and The Juice, we combine intervention with enrichment to meet each child where they are—and help them soar.

In our Science, Technology, and Art Centers, kids build 21st-century skills like creative problem solving, collaboration, and communication. It’s hands-on learning with real-world impact.

Because when kids believe they can succeed—they do.

CHARACTER & LEADERSHIP

Leaders aren’t born—they’re built. And it starts here.

Our Character & Leadership Initiative helps young people discover their voice, find their purpose, and lead with heart. Through service-based projects and volunteer opportunities, members learn what it means to show up for their community—and for each other.

Programs like Youth of the Year, Member of the Month, and our annual Fine Art Exhibit celebrate their growth and amplify their stories. Because when we recognize their potential, they begin to see it too.

We’re not just shaping strong students. We’re shaping tomorrow’s leaders.

Life & Workforce Readiness

Every young person deserves a future they’re excited about—and the skills to make it happen.

Our Life & Workforce Readiness programs open doors to possibility. Teens connect with industry professionals each month to explore real-world careers and hear honest stories about the journeys behind them.

Inside the Club, we build employability skills like communication, time management, and goal setting. Beyond our walls, we walk alongside recent grads—offering college and career planning, mentorship, and a network of peers navigating the same life steps.

Because success doesn’t happen by chance. It happens with guidance, grit, and a community that believes in you.
