A Professional and Personal Connection

Meet Isaiah Nickerson, our Salinas Clubhouse Director who has been an integral part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) for the past 11 years! From starting out as a Teen Specialist in 2015—working directly with teens and supporting their needs and development—to stepping into more leadership roles like Club Director, Isaiah brings amazing insights and experience to help cultivate a space where youth can recognize their potential, find their voice, and begin walking in their purpose.

Working at Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County is also extra special to Isaiah, as he’s seen his four daughters grow up and thrive in these programs. Having the unique opportunity to experience the Club from both sides has helped drive his goal to bring new and enriching resources for the youth. 

“I know this work makes a difference because I have lived it personally and professionally. That perspective makes the mission even more meaningful to me and continues to drive my commitment to investing my life’s work in the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs.”

During his time at BGCMC, Isaiah has assisted in launching College & Career Readiness (CCR) programming and focused on creating opportunities and positive pathways for our youth. Experiencing the cultivation of this work over the years, seeing our mission come to life, and witnessing firsthand our youth grow into healthy, productive, and successful citizens has been his favorite part of his job at BGCMC.
