Angelica - “We really appreciate the help the Boys & Girls Club has given my family. It is a good and safe place for my children to be afterschool. They feel comfortable and accepted and have provided guidance to my children that we could have never provided.”
Gilbert - "The nutrition program is wonderful for parents that can't be with their kids during dinner and lunch time. A variety of foods are served that Club members may not normally have because it cost more than what our families may be able to afford."
Rosario - “When I registered two of my children at the Boys & Girls Club, I was relieved to have a safe place for my children to go to. I had never taken my children to any after school program since I was able to stay home and take care of them. When my ex husband left, I had to look for work to support my children. I could not afford day care or babysitting. The job I first got only gave me an hour for lunch and was impossible for me to pick up my children from school. Because of the separation, my children and I were emotionally affected. The Club became a stable place for my children and me. When they told me that Club had a bus program to pick up my children from school I could only say thanks. In the turmoil that my children and me are living right now, the Club is as they say a second stable home.”

Don Jordon, Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County Board of Directors and former Mayor of the City of Seaside. “The Boys & Girls Club has grown to be is an integral part of the city. We did not see it (Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County) as an asset, we see it as a part of the city itself.”
Chuck Semeria, Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County Volunteer. “There are plenty of places that I can volunteer. I volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club because it gets me back to doing what I love which is teaching math. …I get to mentor them, council them and help them with their normal everyday problems, help them with their lives. …I basically have a bunch of 12 year old friends!”
