Anthony Toney, Salinas Unit DirectorDepartment: Unit Directors & CoordinatorsEmail: Anthony is currently a Unit Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County; he works at the Seaside unit. He became involved with the club because he enjoys working with young people and wants to have a positive influence on their development. Anthony has been with the Boys & Girls Club since 1994. Before joining the Boys & Girls Club, Anthony was employed with Household Credit Services as a Collector and a Facilitator. He worked at the Salinas branch for 1 1/2 years. Anthony had a very successful career in sports before his employment with Household Credit Services. He played professional football for 5 years as a running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, where he was drafted in the second round in 1986. The Eagles made the playoffs in 1988, 1989 and 1990 under head coach Buddy Ryan. Anthony retired from football in 1992. A local product, Anthony, his 3 brothers and 3 sisters grew up in Salinas. He attended North Salinas High School and Hartnell Junior College before transferring to Texas A&M University where he studied Industrial Education. |
