19th Annual Comics for Kids Dinner Auction
Rita Rudner entertains to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County

Pebble Beach, CA.  February 9, 2012 – Rita Rudner will entertain the crowd at the 19th Annual Comics for Kids gala benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) on Saturday, March 31st. Doors will open at 5:30 pm; valet service is available. The luxurious venue, made possible in part by Coastal Luxury Management and the Pebble Beach Company, will once again be the Pebble Beach Food and Wine Grand Tasting Tent located at the Equestrian Center in Pebble Beach. 

This year we are proud to announce that Jasmine Viel and Marc Cota-Robles of KION TV will be Masters of Ceremony for the evening. Reservations are $300.00 per person, and priority seating is available through Sponsorships.  For more information or to make a reservation, visit www.bgcmc.org. 

The evening begins with a cocktail reception and a Silent Auction. Guests bid on over 150 Silent Auction Items using a handheld device called Bidpal, which enables bidders to "see" bids happening in real time without having to hover near the Silent Auction displays.  A fabulous dinner, prepared by local chefs, will be served as auctioneer Wil Shriner auctions off a variety of Live Auction and Fund-a-Need opportunities. 

A few of this year’s Live Auction items include: a Charming Cape Cod- Nantucket Sound Cottage package; a 2010 World Champions San Francisco Giants Luxury Box for 12; Lion King on Broadway package featuring 4 Orchestra Seats; and many more outstanding items and packages.  Fund-a-Need bidding raises much-needed income to create positive impact for our youth in three key areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship.

Comic entertainment for the evening will be provided by the renowned comedian Rita Rudner, best known for her Las Vegas comedy act at the Venetian.  Rita has also starred in seven HBO comedy specials, her own PBS special and has written several movie scripts.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) has played an integral role in the community for over 43 years.  With Clubhouses in Seaside and Salinas, BGCMC provides youth between the ages of 6-18 an afterschool safe haven where they are mentored to achieve academic success, acquire healthy lifestyles, and develop good character and citizenship.  Over 95% of the total budget comes from generous individuals, corporations and foundations.
